Do you love baking cakes, pastries, and breads? If the smell of fresh goodies from the oven makes you happy, this course is for you!

In this course, you will learn how to make different types of bakery items, including breads, cakes, chocolate decorations, and desserts. You will work with a variety of ingredients, both halal and non-halal in your creations.

Additionally, you will have the chance to gain hands-on experience through a three-month and six-month internship at well-known pastry or bakery establishments. This is a great opportunity to learn from the best in the business!

What you'll learn

  • Prepare mise en place for pastry and baking
  • Process baking ingredients
  • Prepare a range of basic and artisanal breads
  • Prepare a range of sweet and savoury pastries
  • Prepare petit fours, chocolates, candies and confectionery
  • Prepare a range of cakes and carry out cake decorations
  • Prepare a range of hot, cold and frozen desserts
  • Apply food nutrition sensory analytics on pastry products
  • Display, evaluate and store finished products

Entry Requirements

GCE ‘O’ level grades in any 2 subjects:

  • Grade 1-8

GCE 'N' level passes in English Language and 2 other subjects:

  • Grade A-D or Grade 1-5

Notes:

  • Shortlisted applicants will have to pass a prescribed medical examination.
  • Students will be required to purchase a laptop for the course. This is in addition to the course fees. Financial assistance is available to eligible students under ITE Opportunity Fund subject to terms and conditions. For more details on the minimum laptop specifications, please click here.
