This course provides students with the skills and knowledge in troubleshooting, servicing, repairing and maintaining passenger and commercial vehicles.
The course duration is 1.5 years to 3 years.
Jan 25 intake will be the last intake of new applicants for the Nitec in Technology - Automotive Technology course. To obtain full certification, students will need to complete and pass all relevant modules by the prescribed timeline.

Entry Requirements
- Completed GCE ‘O’ level; or
- Completed GCE ‘N’ level; or
- Passed BEST 4 Mathematics (for those with work experience); or
- Passed ISC in Mechanical Servicing; or
- Accumulated at least 60 hours of structured On-the-Job Training under the Certified On-the-Job Training Centre (COJTC) system. The OJT must be relevant to the course applied for; or
- WDA’s Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 in Reading, Speaking, Listening and Numeracy.
Note:
Applicant applying for this course must be free from colour appreciation deficiency. A score of 100% from the Colour Blindness Test taken here is mandatory for course admission.
Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission if they have a letter of sponsorship or employer’s recommendation. Applicants may have to go through an interview.

Nitec in Technology - Automotive Technology graduates are employed by fleet maintenance workshops, public transport companies, distributors of passenger and commercial vehicles, service garages, franchised motor dealers, vehicle inspection centres, service garages and government agencies. Some of the job titles held by graduates include Truck or Bus Service Technician, Diesel Engine Service Technician, Motor Vehicle Service Technician, Service Adviser and Vehicle Inspector. The challenge is for students to prepare themselves by upgrading their technical skills and knowledge by taking up higher-level courses.
