Application & Acceptance
1. How can I apply and what are the application procedures?
Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents with the requisite Nitec or Higher Nitec qualifications and meet the entry requirements for Technical Diploma courses can apply via Internet at ITE website http://www.ite.edu.sg/ during the application period. At the application website, enter your NRIC/FIN and Date of Birth to start your application.
Internet access is available at Customer & Visitor Centre at ITE College Central, ITE College East and ITE College West during the application period between 8.30 am and 6.00 pm from Mondays to Fridays.
If you encounter difficulties with your application over the Internet, please go to any of the ITE Colleges to apply or call the ITE Customer Service Hotline on Tel 1800 2222 111 for assistance.
2. What are the full-time Diploma courses that ITE offers?
ITE offers the following full-time courses:
The Technical Engineer Diploma (TED) in Automotive Engineering course which ITE conducts with the Ministry of Education, Youth & Sports (MEYS), Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The course comprises 2 years of full-time training at ITE College West. Students will be trained analysing and resolving complex technical problems associated with motor vehicles, managing workshop maintenance and repair services and rendering technical advice and providing workshop services to motorists.
The Technical Engineer Diploma (TED) in Civil & Structural Engineering course is a collaborative effort between ITE and Vocational Training Council (VTC). VTC is the largest Vocational and Professional Education and Training (VPET) provider in Hong Kong. The course, comprising 2 years of full-time institutional training inclusive of a 3-month internship, is offered to graduates from the relevant Nitec and Higher Nitec courses who meet the prescribed entry requirements. This course provides students with comprehensive skills and knowledge in the designing, supervising and managing civil and structural engineering works in the Built Environment sector.
The Technical Engineer Diploma (TED) in Electrical Engineering (Clean Energy) course is newly launched for 2025. The course follows a practice-based curriculum prescribed by our prestigious partner institution, Heinrich-Hertz-Schule in Baden-Württemberg, Germany and offers opportunities for students to participate in exchange programmes to Germany. Students will attain a joint transcript issued by Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MEYS), Baden-Württemberg, Germany and ITE, together with a professional diploma conferred by MEYS.
The Technical Engineer Diploma (TED) in Machine Technology course which ITE conducts in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Youth & Sports (MEYS), Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The course comprises 2 years of full-time training at ITE College Central. Students will be trained in the area of machine/equipment design & building, including making, assembling, testing and commissioning.
The Technical Diploma (TD) in Beauty & Wellness Management course is a second partnership between ITE and VTC. It offers graduates from the relevant Nitec and Higher Nitec courses, a curriculum that is developed in collaboration with VTC and customised based on Singapore’s context to meet local and international requirements. This course equips you with the skills and expertise to be a professional therapist in the Beauty & Wellness industry, to be part of the management team in a beauty-related company or to be involved in research and development of beauty and personal care products.
The Technical Diploma (TD) in Culinary Arts course which ITE conducts with the prestigious French culinary school, Institut Lyfe (formerly Institut Paul Bocuse). The course comprises 2.5 years of full-time training at ITE College West, including a 9-month internship. The course content is customised based on local context to allow for diverse subject mastery and hands-on practice.
The Technical Diploma (TD) in Health & Exercise Coaching course is newly launched for 2025. The curriculum is developed in collaboration with Vocational Training Council, Hong Kong, and customised based on local context to meet local regulatory requirements. The course equips students with relevant skills and knowledge to serve the fitness and health needs of all communities, including seniors and children. Students will have overseas learning opportunities through student exchange programmes in Hong Kong and attain a higher diploma conferred by VTC, Hong Kong.
The Technical Diploma (TD) in Hospitality & Hotel Management course is conducted by ITE in collaboration with the prestigious Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL), for ITE graduates who possess Nitec or Higher Nitec in related fields. It comprises 2.5 years of full-time institutional training inclusive of a 6-month internship to allow students to gain relevant industry experience. This course provides students with multi-dimensional competencies to be versatile and adaptable in the Hospitality industry.

3. What are the entry requirements for the Technical Diploma courses?
You can apply for admission to a Technical Diploma or Technical Engineer Diploma course if you are:
A Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident (From April 2024 onwards)
A graduate or final semester graduating student with a relevant full-time Higher Nitec or Nitec
Requirements for different type of courses

Applicants with at least 1 year of relevant work experience can be considered for admission if they meet the following academic requirements:
Relevant ITE CET Higher Nitec in Services (GPA of 2.0 and above)
Relevant ITE CET Nitec in Services (GPA of 3.0 and above)
Relevant Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) and Level 6 WSQ Workplace Literacy and Workplace Numeracy
Applicants with other qualifications or working adults with at least 2 years of relevant work experience can be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview.
For Technical Engineer Diploma in Automotive Engineering, Technical Engineer Diploma in Civil & Structural Engineering and Technical Engineer in Machine Technology courses, shortlisted applicants must pass an aptitude test to be considered for admission.
In line with industry requirements, applicants applying for the Technical Engineer Diploma in Automotive Engineering and Technical Engineer Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Clean Energy) courses must ensure that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency.
For the Technical Diploma in Beauty & Wellness Management, Technical Diploma in Culinary Arts, Technical Diploma in Health & Exercise Coaching, and Technical Diploma in Hospitality & Hotel Management courses, shortlisted applicants will also be required to pass a pre-admission medical examination for admission.

Fees and Subsidies
4. How much are the fees for the TED/TD courses?
The course fees are payable by term (one term is 6 months). The first term fees are payable before enrolment. The fees from second term are payable before the start of each term. Please click here to view a summary of course fees payable per year and per term for the full-time Technical Diploma courses.
5. Is there any refund of fees if I decide to withdraw from the TED/TD course?
Refund of fees is not an automatic process. Applicants must apply for refund before ITE will process the request.
The registration, course, supplementary and examination fees may be refundable as follows:

6. Is there any age limit for the TED/TD courses?
There is generally no age limit for the TED/TD courses if applicants meet the entry requirements.
7. What are the career prospects for TED or TD graduates?
TED in Automotive Engineering graduates will be employed as Service Advisor, Automotive Technical Executive and Automotive Workshop Manager.
TED in Civil & Structural Engineering graduates can look forward to becoming an Assistant Civil & Structural (C&S) Engineer, a Building Information Modelling (BIM) Coordinator or a C&S Resident Technical Officer.
TED in Electrical Engineering (Clean Energy) graduates can look forward to a career in the energy and built environment sectors, like Assistant Engineer, Supervisor, etc.
TED in Machine Technology graduates are sought after by industrial automation equipment makers and machine tool manufacturers in the high-growth machinery and systems cluster.
TD in Beauty & Wellness Management graduates can look forward to becoming a Specialist/Consultant in beauty & personal care products or a Senior Therapist in the area of beauty services such as facial treatment, makeup and spa treatment.
TD in Culinary Arts graduates are employed in restaurants and food & beverage establishments in hotels. Some of the job titles held by graduates may include Head Chef, Executive Chef, Owner-chef, Private Chef, Events Caterer, Business Creator, Quality Auditor, Culinary Consultant, Trainer, Sales Manager, Purchasing Manager, Culinary Stylist.
TD in Health & Exercise Coaching graduates can pursue careers in the health and wellness sector through jobs such as Health and Wellness Coach, Therapy Assistant, Care Coordinators, Active Health Coach or Exercise Trainer.
TD in Hospitality & Hotel Management graduates can look forward to supervisory or management roles in the hospitality or any other services sector.
8. What are the progression opportunities for TED/TD graduates?
Graduates of the TED in Automotive Engineering course will be eligible to apply for admission to related National University of Singapore (NUS) Bachelor of Technology Programmes, related Degree Programmes in Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and the Universities of Applied Sciences in Germany. Applicants are required to meet the minimum entry requirements, specified for the course, as stipulated by the respective Universities for admission.
Graduates of the TED in Civil & Structural Engineering course may be considered for admission to the related undergraduate degree programmes at the Singapore Institute of Technology and Singapore University of Social Sciences, based on merit and case-by-case basis. Applicants are required to meet the minimum entry requirements, specified for the course, as stipulated by the respective Universities for admission.
Graduates of the TED in Electrical Engineering (Clean Energy) course can progress to study undergraduate degree programmes at Singapore Institute of Technology, Singapore University of Social Sciences, and the Universities of Applied Sciences in Germany. Applicants are required to meet the minimum entry requirements, specified for the course, as stipulated by the respective Universities for admission.
Graduates of the TED in Machine Technology course will be eligible to apply for admission to related National University of Singapore (NUS) Bachelor of Technology Programmes, related Degree Programmes in Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) and the Universities of Applied Sciences in Germany. Applicants are required to meet the minimum entry requirements, specified for the course, as stipulated by the respective Universities for admission.
Graduates of the TD in Beauty & Wellness Management course may be considered for admission to related undergraduate degree programmes. Applicants are required to meet the minimum entry requirements, specified for the course, as stipulated by the respective Universities for admission.
Graduates of the TD in Culinary Arts course can progress to complete the bachelor’s degree in Institut Lyfe in one year upon the obtainment of the Technical Diploma in Culinary Arts.
Graduates of the TD in Health & Exercise Coaching course can progress to study related undergraduate degree programmes at Singapore Institute of Technology, National Technology University, Singapore University of Social Sciences, and overseas universities. Applicants are required to meet the minimum entry requirements, specified for the course, as stipulated by the respective Universities for admission.
Graduates of the TD in Hospitality & Hotel Management course may be considered for admission to the Bachelor of Science in International Hospitality Management, offered by EHL whether in Singapore or Switzerland. Applicants are required to meet the minimum entry requirements, specified for the course, as stipulated by EHL for admission.
9. What is the training system for the TED/TD courses?
ITE's full-time TED/TD courses are conducted on a Semester-Based Credit System of Training (SCT). This system of training offers flexibility, choice and diversity in learning. In SCT, a course of study is structured into a series of modules and credits are assigned to each module. Assessment of module is on a term basis, and once students have passed the module assessment, the achievement is credited to them. When students have accumulated the required number of credits in modules relevant to the course of study within the defined period, they are deemed to have met the requirements of the course for graduation and will be awarded the full certificate.
