ITE Diploma Courses
ITE now offers nationally recognised Work-Study Diploma and Technical Diploma, designed specifically for Nitec and Higher Nitec graduates to advance their careers and education at Singapore universities.
ITE offers diplomas!
We have two types of Diploma programmes: Work-Study Diploma and Technical Diploma. Our diploma courses fulfil the aspirations of our graduates for academic and career progression. Students particularly value the hands-on training offered by these Diplomas, and our graduates experience strong employment prospects, with opportunities to continue their education at local universities.
ITE Progression Award (for aged 30 and below)
The ITE Progression Award (IPA) supports ITE graduates in upgrading to diploma courses earlier in their careers, helping them secure stronger progression prospects in their chosen professions. By easing the financial costs of pursuing accredited diploma courses in Singapore, the IPA also boosts graduates' savings for long-term goals such as home ownership or retirement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose ITE Diplomas?
ITE offers two distinct pathways to a nationally recognised Singapore diploma, each designed for different career and learning goals.
The Work-Study Diploma (WSDip) is a 2.5 to 3-year apprenticeship-based programme with a curriculum co-designed by industry, allowing you to earn a competitive starting salary and enjoy employee benefits while deepening your skills through structured workplace learning and mentorship. You will receive a fully-sponsored and nationally-recognised Diploma, with opportunities for further academic progression and a $5,000 sign-on incentive* for eligible fresh ITE graduates.
Alternatively, the Technical Diploma (TD) is a 2 to 2.5 year full-time programme featuring a curriculum co-designed with leading international vocational training institutions, including overseas learning experiences in France, Germany, Hong Kong, or Switzerland depending on your course of study. The TD is jointly certified by ITE and the partner institution, offers pathways to further academic progression, and provides eligible students with a $10,000 CPF Ordinary Account top-up (ITE Progression Award) as well as $5,000 into their Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA). Whether you choose work-study or full-time international training, both ITE diplomas open doors to career success and university pathways.
*For fresh ITE graduates from relevant feeder courses who are Singapore Citizens and within three years of their graduation or Operationally Ready Date. Terms and conditions apply.
Is an ITE diploma recognised in Singapore?
Yes, both the ITE Technical Diploma and Work-Study Diploma is approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE) as equivalent to a polytechnic diploma.
Can I go to university with an ITE diploma?
Yes. Graduates can pursue related degree programmes at overseas or local universities.
What is the ITE Progression Award about? Who is eligible for it?
The ITE Progression Award (IPA) supports ITE graduates to upskill to a diploma earlier in their careers, to secure more progression prospects in their chosen professions.
The IPA helps ITE graduates with the financial costs of obtaining a diploma with a $5,000 top-up to their Post-Secondary Education Account upon enrolment. It also helps boost their savings for longer-term goals, such as home ownership or retirement, by providing a $10,000 top-up to their CPF upon completion.
The IPA will benefit all Singaporean ITE graduates aged 30 and below who pursue a diploma qualification issued by an MOE-funded institution from 2024, or a diploma qualification awarded under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) from 1 June 2025.
