ITE’s IgnITE Skills Challenge 2026 has achieved its record-breaking participation, with 1,962 secondary school students signing up for the annual skills competition. Now in its tenth edition, the Challenge aims to introduce students to technical skills and foster a deeper understanding of the diverse courses offered by ITE.
Dr Syed Harun Alhabsyi, Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Education and Ministry of National Development attended the event as Guest-of-Honour. Students showcased their skills by competing across 17 Skills Challenges, including nine newly introduced Skills Challenges focusing on the areas of sustainability, human science and advanced technologies. This is the largest number of Skills Challenges that has ever been included in series.
The nine new Skills Challenges are:
· Biomechanics in Motion – Optimising Sports Performance
· DermaRouge plus
· Edible Ecofloat
· HydroMotion: Green Grand Prix
· PowerPlay: Fitness Data Quest
· Re-ignITE Our Community Lah!
· Speed Coding with Micro:bit
· Trash to Trend: You Nailed it!
· The Gripper X Innovation Quest
