SkillsFuture Certificate of Competency (CoC)
You will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to design an electrical drawing systems for electrical installations up to 45 kVA and voltage not exceeding 1000 volts, which is in compliance with the relevant Code of Practice.
Course duration: 21 hours
What you'll learn
Understand the Electricity Act 2001 and local regulations related to electrical design and installation
Interpret the applicable Code of Practice for ensuring safety in design
Differentiate between various types of installations and load characteristics for design purposes
Apply load estimation concepts and steps for conductor sizing
Understand Earthing and Bonding principles, sizing of earth conductors, and basic knowledge of Residual Current Circuit Breaker
Create a Single Line Diagram with protection ratings, new cable colour codes, and labels in electrical design
Develop electrical designs for Temporary Electrical Installations like Generator sets and Socket Outlet Assembly
Utilise the entire design process to finish a residential project
Entry requirements
This is an intermediate-level course. It is also suitable for participants with secondary school level education with related electrical work experience.
