SkillsFuture Certificate of Competency (CoC)
This course will train and certify escalator maintenance personnel to independently service and maintain escalators and moving walkways, while adhering to safety standards.
Course duration: 14 hours
What you'll learn
Interpret regulations and codes of practice for escalators.
Utilise a variety of maintenance tools and specialised equipment for escalator and maintenance tasks.
Conduct safety inspections for escalator operations
Identify key components of escalator systems
Conduct serviceability assessments on escalator systems
Conduct escalator testing as per statutory requirements
Troubleshoot safety circuits for escalators
Entry requirements
This is an Intermediate-level course. You must fulfil the following entry requirements.
Completed Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC) OR Completed Work at Height (WAH) Course; and
Ability to read and write in English; and
At least one year’s working experience in related field of escalator maintenance;
OR
Completed course in CoC in Escalator and Moving Walks Maintenance
Participants are to submit proof of entry-requirement at point of registration.
