This course aims to help participants understand and perform tasks related to fiber optic cabling installation and testing.

Course duration: 24 hours

What you'll learn

  • Fundamentals of fibre optic

  • Indoor and outdoor fibre cable

  • Fibre optic accessories, splices & termination tools

  • Fibre indoor/outdoor fusion splicing & anerobic termination

  • Fibre cabling arrangement/management and cleaning

  • Fibre Installation Safety

  • Fibre optic testing equipment

  • Fibre diagnosis & troubleshooting with an OTDR

  • Fibre  Splitter

  • Maintenance and Testing of fibre optic cabling with an Out-of-Band OTDR

Entry requirements

This is a basic course. It is suitable for participants who have related work experience in the fiber optic cable industry or any other industry that requires fiber optic cabling interconnectivity.

Fee for this course can be paid using SkillsFuture Credits.
