Learn While You Work
You will gain hands-on experience in robotics, automation control, sensors, fault finding and workplace safety through training with industry partners. After graduation, you can explore careers such as robotics technician, automation technician, maintenance technician, engineering assistant or technical specialist in smart manufacturing, logistics, precision engineering and automation solutions.
Job role
What does an Assistant Engineer do?
An Assistant Engineer leads the deployment, operation and maintenance of robotic systems, such as industrial, humanoid and quadruped robots, to ensure reliable performance and reduce downtime.
Work-study training pattern
Day Release - One day of classroom lessons per week at ITE, with the remaining work-week spent at the workplace for On-the-Job Training.

What you'll learn
Set up and monitor mechanical systems
Maintain mechanical systems
Programme and maintain sensors and monitoring systems
Operate, inspect, maintain and repair robotic systems, including industrial, humanoid and quadruped robots
Set up and deploy robotic systems for workplace applications
Integrate robots with sensors and control systems
Troubleshoot faults and restore system operation
Monitor performance data and support system optimisation

Entry requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements:
ITE graduates from any one of the following courses + pass company screening & interview;
Nitec with GPA ≥ 2:
All courses from School of Engineering
All courses from School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology
Higher Nitec:
All courses from School of Engineering
All courses from School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology
OR
In-service employees+ with:
Equivalent qualifications such as Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above
Minimum 18 years old with at least 2 years of full-time relevant work experience
Strong employer endorsement
+In-service employee may be invited for an admission interview
