What Does an Assistant Engineer Do?
An Assistant Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring industrial mechanical systems operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Working across the full engineering lifecycle, an Assistant Engineer will:
Design: Assist in conceptualising engineering solutions and modifying mechanical systems to meet operational standards and safety regulations.
Build: Supervise the installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of modern mechanical equipment and smart automated machinery.
Manage: Oversee routine operations, conduct inspections, manage quality and safety risks, and supervise maintenance and repair workflows to keep critical infrastructure running smoothly.
Work-study training pattern
Day Release - One day of classroom lessons per week at ITE, with the remaining work-week spent at the workplace for On-the-Job Training.

Entry requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements:
ITE graduates from any one of the following courses + pass company screening & interview;
Nitec with GPA ≥ 2:
All courses from School of Engineering
All courses from School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology
Higher Nitec:
All courses from School of Engineering
All courses from School of Electronics & Info-Comm Technology
OR
In-service employees+ with:
Equivalent qualifications such as Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above
Minimum 18 years old with at least 2 years of full-time relevant work experience
Strong employer endorsement
+In-service employee may be invited for an admission interview
