Course duration: 30 months
This diploma course is currently exclusive to existing PSA Corporation Limited employees under company sponsorship.
You will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to perform and supervise maintenance and repair of port container handling automated systems and equipment, such as network systems, and automated cranes and vehicles, in accordance with planned schedule, quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) guidelines.
Prerequisite
PSA Corporation Limited employees must:
- Hold the position of Technical Specialist or Senior Technical Specialist 
- Have minimum one year's work experience 
- Be free from colour appreciation deficiency 
Job role
An Assistant Service Engineer performs and supervises maintenance and repair of various port container handling automation systems and equipment such as network system, automated crane and vehicle, in accordance with planned schedule, quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) guidelines.
Work-Study Training pattern
Day Release - One day of classroom lessons per week at ITE, with the remaining work-week spent at the workplace for On-the-Job Training.

Entry requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements:
- ONLY existing PSA Corporation Limited employees with company sponsorship - Holding the positions of Technical Specialist or Senior Technical Specialist 
- Have a minimum of one year’s work experience 
- Free from colour appreciation deficiency 
 
- ITE graduates from any one of the following courses + with company sponsorship; 
- Nitec with GPA ≥ 2: - Automotive Technology 
- Electrical Technology 
- Electronics 
- Mechanical Technology 
- Mechatronics 
- Mechatronics & Robotics 
- Port Equipment Technology 
- Technology - Port Equipment Technology 
 
- Higher Nitec: - Automotive Engineering 
- Electrical Engineering 
- Electronics Engineering 
- Mechanical Engineering 
- Mechatronics Engineering 
 
OR
- In-service employees with: - Equivalent qualifications such as Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above

Work-Study Diploma in Port Automation Technology aims to upgrade the skills of potential Technical Specialists / Senior Technical Specialist to be trained as Assistant Service Engineer and equip them with the capabilities to handle advanced port technologies and equipment, to be deployed in the intelligent Port of the Future at Tuas.
