Acquire the skills to perform safe electrical practices and good housekeeping of electrical tools and equipment, and identify electrical risks. By the end of the course, you will be able to carry out basic maintenance in compliance with relevant codes
of practice and conduct visual checks.

- Basic electrical fundamentals
- Safe working procedures for electrical installation work, workplace safety, and health policies
- Common electrical accessories
- The requirement for power final circuits
- Protective devices used for overcurrent and earth leakage protection
- Use of safety mark under the Singapore Consumer Protection (Safety Requirements) Regulations
- Change in cable colour code for electrical installations as in amendment No.1 to CP5:1998
- Application of electrical testing instruments and safety precaution during use
- Basic techniques of circuit connection and principles of identifying, tracing and troubleshooting faults
- Termination of portable socket outlet extension to a 13A plug via a 3-core flexible cord and load checking of equipment and appliances
