This course equips trainees with skills, knowledge and professional attributes to inspect, troubleshoot, maintain and repair aircraft structure, systems (mechanical, electrical and avionics) and associated components using appropriate methods and techniques in accordance with approved procedures and regulations to ensure airworthiness of aircraft.  

 

Training pattern:

Day Release - Trainees attend lessons at ITE for one day per a week and spend the remainder of the work-week at the workplace for OJT.

What you'll learn

  • Assist in landing gear retraction test
  • Perform periodic aircraft engine maintenance
  • Execute risk analysis in aircraft maintenance operation
  • Perform removal and installation of engine component(s)
  • Perform essential aircraft flight line maintenance procedures
  • Analyse reliability studies in aircraft maintenance operations
  • Perform wiring integrity checks on aircraft electrical systems
  • Implement approved quality management system for preparing and maintaining aircraft servicing records
  • Identify problems, derive, implement and evaluate viable solutions to solve work process challenges

Entry Requirements

ITE graduates with one of the following qualifications and a GPA of at least 2.0 for those holding a Nitec qualification: 

 

Nitec (GPA >= 2.0) or equivalent in: 

  • Aerospace Avionics 

  • Aerospace Technology 

  • Electrical Technology (Power & Control) 

  • Electrical Technology (Lighting & Sound) 

  • Electronics, Computer Networking & Communications 

  • Electronics & Internet of Things 

  • Mechatronics & Robotics 

  • Mechanical Technology 

  • Vertical Transportation 

 

OR 

 

Higher Nitec 

  • Electrical Engineering 

  • Electronics Engineering 

  • Mechanical Engineering 

  • Mechatronics Engineering 

  • Robotics & Smart Systems 

  • Engineering with Business 

  • Vertical Transportation 

 

OR 

 

In-service employees with: 

  • Equivalent qualifications such as Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above; 

  • Relevant work experience; and 

  • Strong employer endorsement
