A) ITE Monthly Financial Assistance Scheme (MFAS) and Special Student Assistance Scheme (SSAS)
The MFAS provides a monthly allowance to eligible students who need regular financial support for daily expenses. The scheme provides $150 per month and number of months of award shall be assessed by the College based on the student’s needs and the funds available.
The SSAS provides a one-time financial aid to eligible students who need help to tide over short-term financial difficulties or a sudden financial crisis in the family The scheme ranges from $200 to $600, and shall be assessed by the College based on the student’s needs and the funds available.
Application for Bursary & Financial Assistance
To apply for the above bursaries and financial assistance, the student should submit an on-line application for financial assistance and supporting income documents, (e.g. latest payslips, income tax assessment, etc.) for verification and inform his College should there be a change in his household income after application during the academic year. He will be informed if his bursary application is successful. Successful applicants will receive the bursary award via PayNow NRIC or Giro.
Student will be required to refund the full or partial bursary quantum if he is dismissed or voluntarily withdraws or defers from his course of study or is in receipt of a full scholarship/sponsorship/bursary that covers tuition fees and provides an annual or monthly living allowance.

B) Opportunity Fund (OF)
The OF provides a subsidy to eligible students to purchase IT device for their studies. The subsidy is up to 80% of the cost of the IT device, capped at $1,100.
If the student is eligible, he can claim the subsidy if he is an active student at the time of claim and have not claimed a similar subsidy in the last three years.
He can purchase his device from any local retail shop or ITE-approved vendors. For purchase at a local retail shop, he will need to submit his receipt and invoice to the Student Services Centre of the College within one month of purchase, to receive his subsidy credited directly into his bank account.
Alternatively, he may purchase the laptop from any of the ITE-approved vendors where he only need to pay the difference in price after subsidy.
List of approved vendors
The following is a list of ITE approved vendors where the student will only need to pay the difference in price after subsidy:
AsiaPac Technology Pte Ltd
Acer Computer (Singapore) Pte Ltd
NUS Co-op
Example A:
If the listed price of the PC/Laptop/Tablet is $1,300
Listed price = $1,300
80% x $1,300 = $1,040
The student pay 20% ($1,300 - $1,040) = $260
As 80% of the purchase price did not exceed the subsidy cap of S$1,100, the student is only required to pay the remaining 20%. In this case, he will need to pay the vendor $260. ITE will pay the subsidy of $1,040 directly to the vendor.
Example B:
If the listed price of the PC/Laptop/Tablet is $1,400
Listed price = $1,400
80% x $1,400 = $1,120 (Exceeded subsidy of $1,100)
The student pay ($1,400 - $1,100) = $300
Although 80% of the purchase price is $1,120, it has exceeded the subsidy cap of $1,100. Hence he will need to pay the vendor $300. ITE will pay the subsidy of $1,100 directly to the vendor.
Please select Payment Method as "FAS" or "PC SUBSIDY" when order online.
Important: The student will need to liaise directly with the vendor for any enquires on and not limited to ordering, delivering, warranty, specs, payment or cancellation.
ITE will not be responsible for any disputes between student and vendor.
If the student is awarded an external IT grant from other organisation to purchase IT device during the academic year, he will need to declare this to the College and refund the OF subsidy received.
