What you'll learn

  • Set up wired and wireless local area networks to accommodate IP-ready security systems
  • Set up backend security network to support security systems
  • Troubleshoot and maintain of security systems
  • Design and implement security system solutions to meet the client’s requirements
  • Oversee security system installation projects
  • Integrate and implement centralised security management system

Entry Requirements

GCE 'O' level grades in English Language, Mathematics and 1 approved subject:

  • Grade 1-8 in English Language
  • Grade 1-7 in Mathematics (Elementary/Additional)

  • Applicants for this course must ensure that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency.
  • Successful students will be required to purchase a Laptop which will cost about $800 to $1,300 for the 2-year course. This is in addition to the course fees. Progression Opportunities

Higher Nitec in Security System Integration graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. Career Opportunities

Higher Nitec in Security System Integration graduates with strong support of the Security Systems Association of Singapore (SSAS) which represents more than 50 major security systems solution providers, will be readily employed by SSAS members. Some of the job titles held by graduates include Technical Specialist, Security Systems Specialist and Senior Technician.

There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. The challenge is for students to upgrade their technical skills and knowledge by taking up higher-level courses.
