In this course you will learn, among other things, to prepare working drawings using the latest 3D CAD software for the design of key building systems, like Air-conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation Systems, Electrical Installations and Control Systems, Fire Detection and Protection Systems and Water Supply Systems.

Entry Requirements

GCE 'O' level grades in English Language, Mathematics and 1 approved subject:

  • Grade 1-8 in English Language
  • Grade 1-7 in Mathematics (Elementary/Additional)

Successful students will be required to purchase a Laptop which will cost about $900 to $1,900 for the 2-year course. This is in addition to the course fees. Progression Opportunities

Higher Nitec in Integrated Mechanical & Electrical Design graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. For more details on diploma courses for progression, please refer to the Joint Polytechnic Admissions website.

Higher Nitec in Integrated Mechanical & Electrical Design graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 and above together with 2 years of relevant work experience may also apply for progression to a related Technical Engineer Diploma or Work-Learn Technical Diploma course at ITE. Career Opportunities

Higher Nitec in Integrated Mechanical & Electrical Design graduates are employed by companies in the building industry. These include companies providing engineering consultancy services involved in building services such as electrical installations, air-conditioning ducting, fire protection, water supply and sanitary plumbing.
