ITE Skills Certificate ISC

This one-year programme, conducted by Vanguard Healthcare, an ITE Approved Training Centre, prepares you for a career as a Healthcare Assistant. 

Upon completion of the course, the trainee should be able to perform health care and housekeeping tasks like feeding and making beds, providing personal grooming and hygiene services, assist in lifting, moving and transporting elderly patients while working in a nursing home environment.

Job role:

A Health Care Assistant (Homes) is one who performs health care tasks, health monitoring, personal hygiene services, housekeeping tasks and other related supportive services essential to the clients’ health.

Important Note

  1. Course placement is dependent on applicants securing full-time employment and sponsorship from Vanguard Healthcare.
  2. Vanguard Healthcare requires a 12-month post-training bond (2 years total commitment to Vanguard Healthcare).
  3. Applicants might be required to attend pre-employment tests and/or work trial to confirm suitability for the job.

What you'll learn

Entry Requirements

  1. Completed at least Secondary 3 ‘N’ education (or equivalent)
  2. Secure employment and course sponsorship with Vanguard Healthcare.
  3. Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents only.

Entry requirements for in-service workers nominated by employers:

  • Relevant work experience
  • Strong employer endorsement

Progression Opportunities

ISC in Health Care (Home Care) graduates with minimum GPA of 2.8 or at least a Distinction in one of the Off-JT modules, pass company interview and medical examination may apply for progression to Higher Nitec in Nursing course at ITE.
