This course will train and certify escalator maintenance personnel to independently service and maintain escalators and moving walkways, while adhering to safety standards.

What you'll learn

  • Interpret regulations and codes of practice for escalators.
  • Utilise a variety of maintenance tools and specialised equipment for escalator and maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct safety inspections for escalator operations
  • Identify key components of escalator systems
  • Conduct serviceability assessments on escalator systems
  • Conduct escalator testing as per statutory requirements
  • Troubleshoot safety circuits for escalators

Entry Requirements

This is an Intermediate-level course. You must fulfil the following entry requirements.

  • Completed Construction Safety Orientation Course (CSOC) OR Completed Work at Height (WAH) Course; and
  • Ability to read and write in English; and
  • At least one year’s working experience in related field of escalator maintenance;

    • OR
  • Completed course in CoC in Escalator and Moving Walks Maintenance

    Participants are to submit proof of entry-requirement at point of registration.
