This diploma course prepares you for a professional career in the Social Service sector. You will work collaboratively with various community groups to implement outreach programmes aimed at improving the well-being of your clients.

Enrol in this course to gain skills and knowledge to serve the community and facilitate social engagement, to bond and build a caring and inclusive society.

Prerequisite:

Self-driven and resourceful team player who enjoys interactions with people from all walks of life, and exhibits initiative in facilitating community outreach programmes. Possess excellent organisation and administration skills in managing multiple projects and stakeholders.

Job Role:

The Community Engagement Executive serves the community by building a caring and inclusive society. He/she supports the team on logistical coordination, administration and operational support required for events and engagement sessions through schools, public and cyber outreach for different community groups e.g. stakeholders, volunteer, ageing and special populations, youth.

  1. ITE graduates from any one of the following courses:

    Nitec with GPA ≥ 2:

    • Equivalent qualifications such as Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above

Progression Opportunities

Graduates may be considered for admission to related full-time degree programmes in local universities, subject to meeting the admission requirements of the respective programmes.

Career Opportunities

Work-Study Diploma in Community Engagement & Development graduates are employed by government agencies, statutory boards and private organisations in the social service sector.  Some job titles held are Community Engagement Assistant and Community Engagement Executive. Career advancement prospect will improve when graduates acquire experience and upgrade their skills and knowledge.
