Power Up Your Future in Electrical Engineering

Are you ready to kickstart your journey in Electrical Engineering? Our Work-Study Diploma in Electrical Engineering is designed just for you. It combines learning with real work experience, preparing you for a rewarding career in the Engineering Services sector. You will learn how to design, install, and take care of electrical systems, as well as acquire skills to inspect, test, and operate these systems safely.

Prerequisite:

This programme is perfect for practical people who enjoy solving real-world problems and working in teams. You should be eager to learn and grow your skills while valuing your contribution to project goals. It is important that you are not colour blind, as reading electrical colour codes is a key part of the job.

Job Role:

As an Assistant Electrical Engineer or Technical Officer, you will design and install electrical systems. You will also maintain, repair, and inspect these systems to ensure they work safely and efficiently. Additionally, you will test and supervise electrical installations, following all engineering standards and regulations.

 

Training pattern:

Day Release - Trainees attend lessons at ITE for two day per a week and spend the remainder of the work-week at the workplace for OJT.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements:

  1. ITE graduates from any one of the following courses + pass company screening & interview;

    Nitec with GPA ≥ 2:

    • Aerospace Avionics
    • Aircraft Maintenance (Avionics)
    • Aircraft Maintenance (Mechanical & Avionics)
    • Electrical Technology (Lighting & Sound)
    • Electrical Technology (Power & Control)
    • Electronics
    • Marine Electrical Technology
    • Microelectronics

    Higher Nitec:

    • Electrical Engineering
    • Electronic Engineering
    • Mechatronics Engineering
    • Rapid Transit Engineering
    • Facility Management

    OR

  2. In-service employees+ with:
    • Equivalent qualifications such as Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above
    • Relevant work experience
    • Strong employer endorsement

    +In-service employee may be invited for an admission interview

Note: Applicants applying for this course must be free from colour appreciation deficiency.  A score of 100% from the Colour Blindness Test taken here is mandatory for course admission.
