While we enjoy the comfort and convenience a modern building can offer, you may not realise the intelligence behind is a complicated network of engineering systems integrated within the building you may not know existed.

This diploma course prepares you for a professional career in the Built Environment sector. You will be equipped with skills, knowledge and professional attributes to supervise, coordinate, inspect, test and commission M&E services works in buildings to ensure M&E works are carried out in compliance with contracts specifications, drawings and statutory requirements. You will also be equipped with skills and knowledge in monitoring projects progress and verifying progress claims.

 

Prerequisite

Keen eye for details and an inquisitive nature. Trainees are expected to perform duty in challenging work environment in the built environment sector and ready to be firm and assertive in communicating instructions.

 

Job Role:

You will play an important role to deliver high quality building projects in Singapore. The job role includes but not limited to supervision and coordination of M&E works in the Built Environment sector. Job role also includes conducting and verifying test results for commissioning of M&E services, working with government agencies on building guidelines and requirements, verification of payment for completed works, as well as performing inspections for the handing over of property to the owner. 

 

Training pattern:

Hybrid Release - Trainees attend daily lessons at ITE for a continuous period at the start, and after will attend lessons for one day per a week and spend the remainder of the work-week at the workplace for OJT.

  1. ITE graduates from any one of the following courses + pass company screening & interview;

Career Opportunities

Work-Study Diploma in Mechanical & Electrical Services Supervision graduates are employed by consulting firms, construction firms (main contractor) or M&E contractors.  Some of the job titles held by graduates include M&E coordinator and M&E Registered Technical Officer.

There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to M&E Site Engineer or M&E Resident Engineer.
