In this SkillsFuture Certificate of Competency (CoC) course, you will be equipped with the basic knowledge on Dementia Care and learn skills to assist with the delivery of care of clients with dementia in various settings. This course also covers caregivers support, including the use of smart phones apps.
What you'll learn
- Assist in or apply strategies in managing behaviours of dementia clients
- Assist in therapies – Reality, Validation, Remiscence
- Assist in/conduct structure/group activities – memory activities, sensory activities, coordination activities, leisure activities, physical activities
- Establish therapeutic relationship
- Palliative care for persons with dementia
- Care for self and caregivers
- Incorporate use of smart phones apps
Entry Requirements
This is an intermediate course for learners who have a basic understanding of the topic. Applicants are advised to complete CoC in Dementia Care in the Technological Era before taking this course.
