Apply for this course to embrace an exciting career in the fast growing security technology industry. You will learn how to implement and manage security systems, which include design, installation, integration, commissioning, servicing and maintenance.

The course duration is 1.5 years to 3 years.

What you'll learn

  • Set up wired and wireless local area networks to accommodate IP-ready security systems
  • Set up backend security network to support security systems
  • Troubleshoot and maintain of security systems
  • Design and implement security system solutions to meet the client’s requirements
  • Oversee security system installation projects
  • Integrate and implement centralised security management system

Entry Requirements

3 GCE 'O' Level Grades:

  • Grade 1-8 in English Language
  • Grade 1-7 in Mathematics (Elementary or Additional)
  • Grade 1-8 in one of the approved subjects

*The approved subjects are: Biology / Biotechnology / Chemistry / Combined Science / Computer Studies / Design & Technology / Engineering Science / Fundamentals of Electronics / Human & Social Biology / Integrated Science / Physical Science / Physics / Science (Chemistry/ Biology) / Science (Physics/Biology) / Science (Physics/Chemistry) / Science (Physics/Biology/Chemistry).

OR

  • Nitec in Technology qualifications, or
  • Nitec qualifications (Technical Skills)

Higher Nitec in Technology - Security System Integration graduates with strong support of the Security Systems Association of Singapore (SSAS) which represents more than 50 major security systems solution providers, will be readily employed by SSAS members. Some of the job titles held by graduates include Technical Specialist, Security Systems Specialist and Senior Technician.

There are excellent opportunities for career advancement to supervisory positions and beyond. The challenge is for students to upgrade their technical skills and knowledge by taking up higher-level courses.
