This diploma course prepares you for a professional career in the security industry, in-land enforcement and security related policy implementation. 

This course equips trainees with the skills, knowledge and professional attributes on people management, situational awareness, communication, behaviour analysis, quality customer experience management, leadership, team management as well as performing security duties and managing threatening and abusive behaviour.  This includes handling of incidents and emergencies.

Prerequisite:

Self-driven and compliant individual who put the interest of Singapore’s security at top priority and motivated to safeguard the assigned station one is in.

Job Role:

With a possible emplacement to Sergeant 2 or Security Supervisor upon graduation, you are expected to perform higher level of security duties. These duties include but not limited to enforcement of law and legislation, effective management of incidents or crises and detection of security threats.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet the following minimum entry requirements:

  1. ITE graduates from any one of the following courses + pass company screening & interview;
    • Nitec with GPA ≥ 2
      • All Courses
    • Higher Nitec:
      • All Courses

    OR

  2. In-service employees+ with:
    • Equivalent qualifications such as Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 5 and above
    • Relevant work experience
    • Strong employer endorsement
    • Free from colour appreciation deficiency

    +In-service employee may be invited for an admission interview

  3. Physically fit and have normal colour vision

Career Opportunities

Work-Study Diploma in Security Operations graduates employed by the Immigration and Checkpoint Authority (ICA).

Upon graduation, trainees will have the opportunity to promote to Sergeant 2, with a possible job deployment to other job functions. Career advancement prospects will improve when graduates acquire experience and upgrade their skills and knowledge.
