Take up this course and you will discover the wonders of mechanical design, electrical and electronics wiring, highly intelligent programming and control, and Internet of Things. This course will equip you with knowledge and skill sets to set up, install, operate and service novel robotic mechanisms, sensing and control strategies for mobile robots and smart systems.

The course duration is 1.5 years to 3 years.

Entry Requirements

3 GCE 'O' Level Grades:

  • Grade 1-8 in English Language
  • Grade 1-7 in Mathematics (Elementary or Additional)
  • Grade 1-8 in one of the approved subjects*

*The approved subjects are: Biology / Biotechnology / Chemistry / Combined Science / Computer Studies / Design & Technology / Engineering Science / Fundamentals of Electronics / Human & Social Biology / Integrated Science / Physical Science / Physics / Science (Chemistry/ Biology) / Science (Physics/Biology) / Science (Physics/Chemistry) / Science (Physics/Biology/Chemistry).

OR

  • Nitec in Technology qualifications, or
  • Nitec qualifications (Technical Skills)

Career Opportunities

Higher Nitec in Technology - Robotics and Smart Systems graduates would be employed as Robotics Technicians to install, program, service and maintain robots to enhance the productivity, quality and service in the industrial, healthcare, logistics and service sectors in accordance with contract specifications and drawings.
