This course provides students with the skills and knowledge in the area of machine / equipment design and building, including making, assembling, testing and commissioning.

The course comprises a total of 2,000 curriculum hours which are conducted at ITE campus. Students are assessed based on in-course assessments such as practical tests, class tests and projects and written examinations.

GPA 3.0 & above

Applicants with the following qualifications who meet the minimum academic requirements and have at least 1 year of relevant work experience in  Precision Engineering areas such as Machining and Machine Assembly can be considered for admission:

- Relevant ITE CET Higher Nitec in Technology (GPA of 2.0 and above)
- Relevant ITE CET Nitec in Technology (GPA of 3.0 and above)
- Relevant Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) diplomas and Level 6 WSQ Workplace Literacy and Workplace Numeracy

Working adults with at least 2 years of relevant work experience can be considered for admission.  

Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview and pass an aptitude test for admission.

Progression Opportunities

Graduates of the TED in Machine Technology course may be considered for admission to the related NUS Bachelor of Technology Programmes and related degree programmes in the Singapore Institute of Technology

To apply for further studies at Universities of Applied Sciences in Germany, TED graduates will be required to fulfil 1.5 years of relevant work experience. Relevant work experience acquired before the TED in Machine Technology course may be recognised (including relevant internships and work experience gained prior and during training at Nitec and Higher Nitec levels).

Applicants are required to meet the minimum entry requirements, specified for the course, as stipulated by the respective Universities for admission.

Career Opportunities

Technical Engineer Diploma in Machine Technology graduates can look forward to an attractive starting pay of between $2,200 and $2,400 in the high-growth machinery and systems industry. Some of the job titles held by graduates include Assistant Engineer and Supervisor.
