Have you ever thought of how the magic in movies are created?
Higher Nitec in Visual Effects will unravel the magic of creating spectacular visual effects for the exciting media & entertainment industry. You will learn how to create computer graphics elements and combine them with live-action to create a photo-realistic video sequence in a post-production environment in this course. You will also learn 3D Modelling, Rendering, Digital Sculpting, Rotoscoping, Dynamic FX, and Compositing.

Entry Requirements
GCE 'O' level grades in English Language, Mathematics/ Principles of Accounts and 1 approved subject:
- Grade 1-8 in English Language
- Grade 1-7 in Mathematics (Elementary/Additional) or Principles of Accounts*
- Grade 1-8 in one other subject
*To be eligible for selection, you must also have sat for Mathematics (Elementary/Additional).

Progression Opportunities
Higher Nitec in Visual Effects graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. For more details on diploma courses for progression, please

Career Opportunities
Higher Nitec in Visual Effects graduates will be able to perform targeted jobs in visual effects which include Visual Effects Artist; Pre-visualisation artist; 3-D Modeller; Texture Artist; Lighter; Animator; Matte Painter; 3D Tracking Compositor;
Rotoscoping Artist; and Compositor.
With working experience and further training, they will be able to progress to higher supervisory level jobs which include: Senior Visual Effects Artist; CG Supervisory; Lead Animator; Lead
Modeller; Lead Lighter; Lead Compositor; Lead 3D Compositor and Technical Director.
