Do you know that modern vehicles are fitted with a network of powerful computers to improve efficiency, performance and safety? You can be the expert who keeps these vehicles running reliably.

This course provides students with the skills and knowledge to perform a range of progressively responsible tasks involving the service, inspection, repair and diagnosis of systems for petrol, diesel, and high voltage vehicles. Work ranges from inspection, service and repair of mechanical and electrical systems analysis using sophisticated diagnostic equipment and software.

Entry Requirements

Nitec GPA:
Nitec graduates from the following courses with a minimum GPA of 2.3 (inclusive of CCA bonus points):

  • Applicants for this course must ensure that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency.

Higher Nitec in Automotive Engineering graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. Higher Nitec in Automotive Engineering graduates are employed by fleet maintenance workshops, service garages, vehicle dealerships, vehicle inspection centres and government agencies.
