Learn to pilot unmanned aircraft and maintain state-of-the-art instrumentation of aircraft’s flight management and control, navigation and communication systems.

In this course, you will learn to pilot unmanned aircraft, maintain and repair the communication, navigation, electronic flight instruments and electrical systems on-board various aircraft types housed in our very own aircraft hangar.

What you'll learn

  • Perform aircraft general maintenance
  • Assist to perform operational tests on the radio system
  • Perform maintenance of electrical and electronics systems
  • Assist to perform operational tests on the instrumentation system
  • Perform maintenance of electrical wiring looms and related systems
  • Perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight checks on unmanned aircraft

Entry Requirements

GCE ‘O’ level grades in any 2 subjects:

  • Grade 1-8

or

GCE ‘N’ level passes in Mathematics and 2 other subjects:

  • Grade A-D or Grade 1-5

Note: Applicants for this course must ensure that they are free from colour appreciation deficiency and shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview for admission.


Successful students will be required to purchase a Laptop which will cost about $500 - $1,500 for the 2-year course. This is in addition to the course fees. Progression Opportunities

Nitec in Aerospace Avionics graduates with a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. For more details on diploma courses for progression, please refer to the Joint Polytechnic Admissions website.

Nitec in Aerospace Avionics graduates with a GPA of 3.0 and above may apply for progression to a related Technical Engineer Diploma course at ITE.

Nitec in Aerospace Avionics graduates are employed by aerospace companies which maintain and repair aircraft instrumentation, radio system and avionic system. Some of the job titles held by graduates include Aircraft Technician (Avionics trade), Avionics Technician and Aircraft Maintenance Technician.
