This course focuses on the technical skills of food and beverage service and provides students with the knowledge for effective management of hospitality operations with a foundation for hotel guests' service and housekeeping. Students will experience
a combination of food and beverage theory reinforced by the actual practice of the concepts learnt. There will be emphasis on the interpersonal skills needed to manage service situations and how it impacts the customers. Students will understand and
appreciate the critical areas of effective hospitality operations. Areas of training include skills essential to food and beverage service, with a focus on developing barista and mixology skills and knowledge, appreciation of food and its different
ingredients, exposure to events and conventions and an introduction to hotel guests services and facility maintenance.

GCE ‘O’ level grades in any 2 subjects:

Note: Applicants for this course will have to pass a prescribed medical examination.
Successful students will be required to purchase a Laptop which will cost about $500 to $1,500 for the 2-year course. This is in addition to the course fees. Financial assistance is available to eligible students under ITE Opportunity Fund subject to

Progression Opportunities
Nitec in Hospitality Operations graduates with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0 may apply for progression to the following Work-Study Diploma courses at ITE:
Nitec in Hospitality Operations graduates with a GPA of 3.5 and above may apply for progression to the first year of a related diploma course at the Polytechnics. For more details on diploma courses for progression, please
refer to the Joint Polytechnic Admissions website.
Nitec in Hospitality Operations graduates with a GPA of 3.0 and above may apply for progression to the Technical Diploma in Culinary Arts course conducted by ITE in collaboration with Institut Paul Bocuse, France.
Nitec in Hospitality Operations graduates with a GPA of 2.8 and above may also apply for progression to related Higher Nitec courses offered by ITE. For more information on progression, please click here.
